The L/C should be irrevocable.

The terms of L/C should corresdpond with that of the contract confirmed within the exporter and the consignee. The shipment should sail within the period specifed in the l/c.The date of the bill of lading should be within the l/c period. If the l/c expires before the cargo is on the board of the vessel, then u can ask the buyer for extension of the period. If any changes are required in the l/c ask the buyer to immediately effect those necessary changes.Do not agree your bank accept document for documents under reserve,an l/c negotiated with incomplete documents does not guarantee your payment and protection of your interest is at risk.

Cargo Loading
First step the exporter should check is wether the continer is clean or not, they should also check if the container is in sound condition and there are no holes or dents or any leakages. While stuffing the cargo in the container they should stuff it is such a way that the weight of the cargo is equally distributed and also at the time of destuffing the cargo at the destination the caro can be easily and systematically unloaded so that there will be no damage for the cargo. The packing of the cargo should be sea worthy, and if the l/c has any conditions reg cargo packing they have to be fulfilled so that there is no objections from the buyer. The exporter should also consider the weight of the cargo to be stuffed in the container so that it should not be a problem of over weighing at both the countries.
